Diamond Brandon
is a poet, writer, public speaker, and community storyteller whose work lives at the intersection of voice, justice, and healing. Writing since the fifth grade, she has long understood poetry as both refuge and resistance a way to witness the world honestly while imagining something more whole. Through spoken word, reflection, and storytelling, Diamond gives language to grief and joy, struggle and transformation. Her words invite audiences to reconnect with truth, memory, and hope.
Her writing is deeply rooted in lived experience and shaped by faith, motherhood, love, and a commitment to community. Diamond’s work explores themes of liberation, belonging, ancestral wisdom, and the courage required to live and lead authentically. Whether on stage, in print, or in conversation, she speaks with clarity and emotional depth, creating spaces where people feel seen, challenged, and inspired towards collective healing.
As a public speaker, Diamond brings together storytelling, cultural analysis, and movement wisdom drawn from years of community organizing and leadership. Her voice bridges personal narrative with broader social realities. Her message helps audiences understand how our healing and liberation are deeply connected. She has spoken in community, civic, and cultural spaces across California, using poetry and dialogue as bridging tools for reflection and action.
Beyond the stage and page, Diamond’s work is grounded in community practice. She serves as Director of Community Partnerships at the California Labor Federation, supporting organizing efforts that uplift working people and strengthen civic participation. She also helps steward her family’s Black-owned S&S Friendly Ranch in San Diego’s Tijuana River Valley, where she curates gatherings, retreats, and cultural programming centered on land, restoration, and collective care.
Diamond is deeply committed to mentoring emerging leaders, particularly Black women and young people seeking to build new pathways forward. She believes storytelling is a form of responsibility and that voice, when used with intention, can move people toward courage, accountability, and transformation.
At her core, Diamond is a proud mother of three free-thinking girls, a devoted wife, and a lifelong community advocate. Whether writing, speaking, or holding space in community, she moves with intention and a steadfast belief that stories have the power to heal, mobilize, and transform the world around us.
